The St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that the Fire Department will receive the ISO (Insurance Services Office) Class 4 public protection classification, effective March 1st, 2020.
ISO is a third party independent agency that evaluates the fire department, water department and communications systems. It rates the results on a national scale from one to ten (one being the best and 10 being the highest). According to ISO, its Public Protection Classification Program (PPC) plays an important role in the underwriting process with insurance companies. Most U.S. insurers report that the PPC information is used in their decision-making process when deciding what business to cover, what coverage’s to offer or prices to charge for personal or commercial property insurance.

The St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department participated at the Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association Convention Touch A Truck and Games Event. Fire and EMS companies from all 3 Southern Maryland Counties (Charles County, Calvert County, and St. Mary's County) were in attendance.
At 09:40 on Sunday the 17th, St. Leonard and surrounding companies were dispatched for a serious accident on Rt 4, in the area of Ball Road. Ambulance 78, Engine 72, Chief 7A and Captain 7 responded immediately. Units found a minivan on it's side with a single occupant trapped.

On Friday 15 March at approximately 14:40, St. Leonard and surrounding companies were dispatched to the area of Calvert Beach Road and Garrison St for a serious auto accident with the vehicle reported on fire.

At 4:34 PM on Sunday 10 December, St. Leonard and surrounding companies were alerted for the house fire in the 1300 block of Gregg Drive. Engine72, Tanker 7, Chief 7 and Chief 7A responded upon initial dispatch. First arriving units reported a working incident with fire through the roof on the Alpha/Delta side.
