Serious Crash in St Leonard

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 10:48 a.m., St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an auto accident involving a Tesla passenger car that was crushed between a septic truck and a large box truck. One patient in the Tesla was trapped and unconscious.

Paramedic Ambulance 203 and Chief 7 and Chief 7B were nearby and arrived during the initial dispatch. Upon arrival, Chief 7 confirmed that there was an individual trapped and requested early activation for emergency aviation support.

Squad 7 arrived and quickly popped the Tesla’s door to reach the patient. Squad 2 responded and assisted Squad 7’s crew with extricating the patient and transferring them to Paramedic Ambulance 203’s stretcher and unit.

At the same time, Ambulance 77’s crew arrived and evaluated the driver of the box truck. Engine 22 handled the landing zone for the incoming helicopter.

Maryland State Police Trooper 7 arrived and coordinated with Paramedic Ambulance 203’s crew to package the patient and transfer them to the helicopter for medical transport to an area Trauma Center.
