LUSBY, MD | July 12, 2025 – At approximately 1:27pm, units from St. Leonard Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company 7 were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Lusby area. Responding units from St. Leonard VFD included Engine 71 (Chief 7B), Squad 7 (Safety Officer 7), Rehab 7 (Capt. Terry), and Chief 7.
On arrival, Company 3 (Solomon’s) units observed a two-story residence with heavy fire showing from the entire second floor and through the roof. Engine 71 arrived shortly after and deployed a secondary hose line to support suppression efforts by Company 3. Personnel from Squad 7 assisted with ventilation and overhaul operations to expose hidden fire and aid the engine crews.
Once the fire was knocked down, incident command scaled the assignment back, holding Companies 3 and 7 on scene to conduct extensive overhaul. The investigation of the cause of the fire is being conducted by the Maryland State Fire Marshal. |
