July 9, 2025 | 2:56 AM — Company 7 and surrounding units were dispatched for a first-due house fire in the 5000 block of Decatur Street.

Engine 71, under the command of Lt. Weems, along with Tanker 7 (Capt. Terry) and Rehab 7 (A. Curtis), responded to the call. Upon arrival, Engine 71 encountered a two-story residential structure with smoke showing from the Alpha side.

After the completion of a full 360-degree safety assessment, Fire Suppression Crews from Engine 71 and Engine 22 initiated a primary attack and successfully extinguished the fire. Firefighters conducted extensive overhaul operations to check for fire extension within the structure.

Due to effective fireground operations, the box alarm was scaled back to include Companies 7, 2, and 6. No injuries were reported.
