On June 6th at 2147 hrs the St. Leonard Volunteers along with multiple Calvert and St. Marys departments were dispatched for the reported structure fire in the 1900 block of B Division Lane in St. Leonard. Chief 7 (Lankford), Chief 7A (Richman), Chief 7B (Schooley), Engine 71 (Sgt. Harris), Tanker 7 (FF Lankford), Ambulance 79 (EMT Foster) and Rehab 7 (Lt. Schooley) responded. First Arriving Chief 7 found fire engulfing the entire front side of the structure advancing into the attic. Engine 71 arrived and deployed the first attack line to start knocking down the advancing fire. Mutual aid units from Prince Frederick VFD, Solomons VRSFD, Huntingtown VFD, Bay District VFD, Hollywood VFD and Dunkirk VFD assisted with quickly knocking down the fire, units remained on the scene for several hours for extensive overhaul.

The St. Leonard Volunteers want to remind everyone twith the warmer weather and with Independence Day fast approaching to please make sure that all items that have been burning are completely extinguished prior to disposing of them in the trash, this includes matches, fireworks, sparklers, etc.
