Dogwood Court House Fire

On August 16th, 2015 at approximately 1902 hours the St. Leonard Volunteers were alerted for the House Fire at 4008 Dogwood Court. The Chief (R. Weems II), Deputy Fire Chief (M. Richman), Engine 71 (Capt. Midkiff III), Squad 7 (Capt. Buckmaster), Engine 75 (Sleeper), Brush 7 (Lt. York), Utility 7 (Sgt. Hosselrode), and Ambulance 79 (E. Richardson) immediately responded with approximately 15 personnel. Engine 71 arrived on scene first to find a 1-story ranch style home on a basement with smoke showing. The Fire Chief then arrived on the scene moments later and established the "Dogwood Court" command. Engine 71's crew quickly deployed their 200' cross-lay and found a kitchen fire inside the residence. The fire was quickly knocked down and remaining units assisted with checking for extension. Crews from the St. Leonard VFD operated on the scene until 2045 hours.
