At 1217hrs St. Leonard and surrounding companies were dispatched for the high angle rescue assignment in the 2600 blk of Aster Rd for the report of a dog over the cliff.  Chief 7 (Lankford), Deputy Fire Chief 7 (Schooley), Squad 7, Zodiac 7 and Ambulance 79 responded.

After St. Leonard units arrived they confirmed the dog was actually over the cliff and stuck approximately 30’ down the steep terrain in thick brush. The crews from St. Leonard together with multiple other Calvert County volunteer companies begin to set up for the rescue.  The crews set up a rope system and rappelled down to rescue “Stormy” the Australian Shepard.  After Stormy was successfully rescued and brought back to the top of the cliff she was assessed by Chief 10C and Animal Control, with no injuries found upon their exam Stormy was turned over to her caretakers.

Job well done by all.
