Small Building Fire at Solomons Annex

On Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at approximately 1149 hours, St. Leonard units were dispatched to 13855 S Solomons Island Road for the small building fire. Chief 7, Safety 7A, and Engine 72 promptly responded. First arriving units from Solomons VRSFD reported a 15x25 convenience building with smoke showing. Engine 72 arrived, assuming 3rd due responsibilities, and layed out from a secondary hydrant. The crew then stretched a 2" attack line into the building and assisted with fire attack. The fire was knocked within minutes and Command continued to operate with Solomons, Hollywood, NDW / NAS Pax River, St. Leonard, and Bay District to assist in overhaul. Safety 7A held the command.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by NDW / NAS Patuxent River and the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
