H.G Trueman Road House Fire
By Assistant Chief Thomas Buckmaster
September 3, 2020
On Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 at approximately 1036 hours, St. Leonard units were dispatched to the 9400 block of H.G Trueman Road for the House Fire. Chief 7, Engine 71, Tanker 7, and Rehab 7 promptly responded. Chief 7 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch to find a two-story single family dwelling with fire showing from the charlie and delta quadrant of the roof, and established command. Engine 71 then arrived and stretched a 1.5" 200’ attack line to the 2nd floor and began extinguishing the fire while simultaneously opening up the ceiling to expose the attic area. Ultimately the fire was deemed under control in 20 minutes and multiple units remained on the scene overhauling the structure and assisting the homeowners.
The cause of the fire was deemed accidental from an attic vent fan.
