On Tuesday, May 19th, 2020 at approximately 2059 hours, the St. Leonard VFD along with multiple other neighboring companies were dispatched to the 1600 block of D Avenue for the house fire. Chief 7, Safety 7, Engine 71, Engine 72, Tanker 7, and Ambulance 77, and Ambulance 79 responded. Engine 72 arrived on scene to find a one-story single family dwelling with fire showing from the alpha/bravo side. Engine 72 stretched a 1.5" 200’ attack line inside the structure and began extinguishing the bulk of the fire. Numerous other fire companies then arrived, assisted in water supply, and advanced multiple other attack lines. Shortly after, command requested a 2nd alarm due to the 20-30 mph winds coming directly off the Chesapeake Bay. Ultimately the fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes.

Two uninjured adults were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Cause was found to be accidental as the result of an electrical fire. Company 7 units remained on scene for approximately three hours. Chief 7 held the "D Avenue" command.
