On May 3rd, 2017 at approximately 2348 hours, the St. Leonard Volunteers were alerted to Route. 4 just south of Ball Road for the serious auto accident, reported one trapped. Chief 7B, Squad 7, Ambulance 78, and Ambulance 79 immediately responded. Ambulance 79 arrived on scene first to find a single vehicle over the guardrail and approximately 25 feet down an embankment with one trapped. Chief 7B then arrived and established the "St. Leonard" command and confirmed the same. Crews from Squad 7 and Squad 2 then worked in conjunction to free the trapped occupant, remove multiple trees affecting egress, place the patient in a stokes basket, and transfer care to Ambulance 79 and Medic 103. Trooper 7 then arrived and the patient was swiftly transported to a local trauma center. In addition Ambulance 78 handled a signed refusal from the passenger of the vehicle who was uninjured.
