On April 23, 2017, at 20:06, St. Leonard VFD was dispatched to the Vehicle Accident with a reported ejection on Route 4, just north of White Sands Drive. SO7, Captain 7, SO7A, Squad 7, and Ambulance 79 responded. SO7 arrived to find a single-vehicle accident with an SUV that had rolled over with a child lying conscious in the road. Captain 7 assumed command. Rescue 3, Ambulance 79, Ambulance 38, Ambulance 47, and CALS units handled patient care for the occupants of the SUV. Two adult patients were ground transported to the hospital, while one adult and three children were airlifted to area trauma centers by Troopers 2 and 7. Units remained on scene to assist the Calvert County Sheriff's Office with lighting for crash reconstruction. All units cleared at approximately 21:10.
