D. O. Baker Inducted into MSFA Hall of Fame

The members of the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire & Rescue are proud to announce that Life member Daniel O. Baker, Jr., (D.O.) was inducted into the Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Maryland State Fireman's convention in Ocean City, Maryland. This prestigious award is given in recognition of distinguished service to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association or an Individual Department or County Fire or Rescue Service.

D.O. started in the volunteer fire service at Woodland Beach VFD, Anne Arundel County at the age of 16. In 1966, D.O. moved to Calvert County where he joined Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department. He served as a member of the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department before joining the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department in December 1987. D.O. has been active with our department and instrumental in the growth, improvements and advancements we've made. He has held the position of Chief, President, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for several years. Please join us in congratulating D.O. on this outstanding achievement.
