Turkey Foot Road House Fire

On Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at approximately 0220 hours, the St. Leonard VFD along with multiple other neighboring companies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Turkey Foot Road for the outside flood light on fire. Chief 7A, Engine 72, Squad 7, Tanker 7, and Ambulance 79 responded. Engine 72 and Chief 7A then arrived on scene to find a two-story single family dwelling with fire showing on the 1st and 2nd floors, with Chief 7A establishing the "Turkey Foot Road" command. Engine 72 stretched a 1-3/4 200’ line extinguishing the bulk of the fire from the exterior before repositioning the line inside to the 2nd floor. Squad 7 arrived and performed a primary of all floors before opening up for the engine companies on the 2nd floor. Numerous other companies then arrived, assited in water supply, and advanced multiple other attack lines. Ultimately the fire was deemed under control within 10 minutes.

Units from Company 7 operated on the scene for 3 hours assiting the Maryland State Fire Marshal before returning to service.
