On Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at approximately 2018 hours, the St. Leonard Volunteers were alerted to Northbound 2/4 in the area of H.G Trueman Road for the serious auto accident. Chief 7A, Chief 7B, Squad 7, and Ambulance 77 responded. Chief 7A who was in the immediate area arrived to find a single vehicle on its side with one subject trapped, two others in the process of self-extricating, and the engine compartment of the vehicle beginning to be involved with fire, and established the "H.G Trueman Road" command. Thankfully first arriving units from the CCSO were able to extinguish the fire using ABC extinguishers carried in their vehicles. Shortly after Squad 7 with the assistance of Squad 3 arrived and worked diligently together to safely extricate the trapped occupant from the vehicle. Ultimately two occupants were transported by Ambulance 77 to CHMC and the trapped occupant was treated by Ambulance 38 and Medic 104 and then transferred to Trooper 7 who then transported the occupant to a local trauma center. St. Leonard units operated for approximately one hour.
