On February 14th, 2018 at approximately 1306 hours, the St. Leonard Volunteers were alerted to Northbound Route. 4 in the area of Governors Runs Road for the auto accident. Squad 7 and Ambulance 78 immediately responded. While en-route, Chief 10 arrived on scene to find a two vehicle t-bone style collision with subjects trapped and upgraded the assignment bringing Squad 2 and Medic 104 on the run. Squad 7 then arrived on scene and began extracting the trapped victims. Chief 7B established the command and requested aviation initially for two patients with one more patient being evaluated for transport to a trauma center as well. After extrication was complete, the patients were handed over to Ambulance 78, Ambulance 47, and Ambulance 39. Squad 2 handled the landing site on scene for Trooper 7 for two of the patients. Ambulance 39 who was also on the scene, consulted with a local trauma center who accepted the third patient by aviation. Squad 7 then handled the additional landing site for Trooper 2 for the third patient. Ultimately, three patients were transported to local trauma centers and Co.7 units operated for approximately one hour.
