On December 30th, 2017 at approximately 1836 hours, the St. Leonard Volunteers were alerted to a structure fire in Prince Frederick beside the Wal-Mart. Promptly, Chief 7B, Engine 72, and Tanker 7 responded with 10 volunteers. First arriving units found a two story single-family dwelling with fire throughout. Units made an interior attack and were met with many challenges dealing with the construction of the residence. Ultimately the many volunteers were able to bring the stubborn fire under control and remained on the scene for many hours assisting the State Fire Marshal.
