The purpose of the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department shall be to organize, establish, equip, maintain and conduct emergency fire, rescue and emergency services in Calvert County, Maryland, and such nearby territory as is within reach of its assistance, to be determined by the County Commissioners of Calvert County, Maryland; to provide fire protection and medical treatment for the injured or sick...; in time of fire, storm, or any other disaster, to render such emergency aid or service, either on land or at sea...; to render any service possible to alleviate the suffering of any injured, protect the property of the citizens of the County; and to employ such organization for the social, educational and civic betterment of the County of Calvert and its vicinity.
